Officers must come clean with expenditure on legal fees

Concerned with potentially crippling costs of claims submitted by alleged victims of discrimination and victimisation under the Equality Act 2010, long standing members have been sending letters to their elected representatives serving on the Green Party Regional Council requesting that a breakdown of such expenditure so far be made available to members.

Requests for clarification have also been submitted to elected officers as to how much has been put aside to meet the costs of legal fees and/or awards, should the party be found to have been in breach of the Equality Act because of its policy regarding sex, gender and race in particular.
