Green Party women to hear from 6000 members about discrimination

Sick of being wrongly accused of transphobia and the object of persistent bullying, harrassment, abuse and disciplinary sanctions because of their views on biological sex and gender, the elected officers of the largest Special Interest group within the Green Party are about to launch a wide-ranging listening exercise about the experience of their members regarding discrimination as defined under the Equality Act of 2010.

This unpredecented and timely consultation has been triggered by a number of events which, as reported in The Green Light, include :

Two Green Party Regional Council (GPRC) Emergency Meetings held recenlty where highly defamatory statements against members of the committee were made

Members of GPRC discussing the possible sanctioning and/expulstion of the whole of the Committee because of a tweet calling for a proper debate on the proposed amendment to the Equality Act

Countless vexatious Complaints, Suspension and Expulsion of members – male and female – who believe that sex is biological and immutable over the last 5 years. This includes the repeated suspension of former co-chair Emma Bateman who is now preparing to take the Green Party to Court for discrimination because of her beliefs. It also includes an anonymous formal complaint on behalf of non-binary former co-chair of GPW and Bristol Green Party Councillor Ani Stafford-Townsend against 5 members of the 2022-2023 Green Party Women’s committee. Submitted 14 months ago by “Redacted” and with a 13 strong Disciplinary Committee overwhelmed by a backlog of complaints from extreme transgender identinarians with allegations of transphobia, those cases are still pending.
