Dear Members
It is with regret that we have decided to resign from the Green Party. Historically, the Green Party, as a priority, challenged human activity and its effect on our planet. Such issues included climate change, wild spaces and vulnerable habitats, species diversity and animal welfare.
Also, the Green Party formulated policies that challenged unfair wealth distribution and social deprivation. We believed that the Green Party’s political ideals and emphases were in line with making the world a better place.
The recent act by the party leadership of disaffiliation of a large and positively influential membership group, is an affront to democracy and is part of a continuous drive over several years to force subjectivism and identity politics to the forefront of our political agenda.
We feel that this is detrimental to the Green Party achieving greater political success as well as frustrating important and critical issues that need urgently addressing.
Yours faithfully
Ann and David
